- Are you open for test automation engineer positions?
- Are you comfortable with addressing technical problems on a day-to-day basis; and getting hands-on when needed?
- Are you comfortable managing resources located offshore; or in offices that are remote?
- What is your management style?
No; at the moment, I prefer management positions over automation engineer positions. I thoroughly enjoyed working as an automation engineer, when I had the chance; but, it is not something that I pursue right now. I do, however, architect test automation suites; and manage medium to large automation projects. I set up the requirements for the project so that it fulfills the overall Dev team's needs; and I set up the project standards so that it is scalable.
Absolutely. This is what I excel at. I enjoy troubleshooting and problem solving. I research tooling for the test team; trial or create POCs, before putting them to everyday use. I give great attention to detail, and I am often assigned Production gatekeeper duties as a result. When Production issues occur, I get involved in troubleshooting, finding viable next steps, taking corrective action, and following up with preventative action.
Yes; I am. I've worked with distributed teams for many years now; and I work with an offshore team of testers in my current role as well. I have a time-tested method of working with distributed teams / remote workers that is both effective and resource efficient.
I am respectful yet bold. I lead by example. I manage people and processes making decisions based on facts and I make sure that I make those facts be visible to others. I strive to set clear goals; and communicate the said goals to my subordinates before they set off on a task. I establish short-term milestones for tasks at hand, so that we could monitor progress and adjust when necessary. I create structure within teams, with the use of test managers, tech leads / team leads. I coach my people with industry best practices so they are empowered and capable.
